Although they are components characterised by considerable constructive and geometric simplicity, they have some fundamental properties for both selection and installation:
– Type: there are, in fact, nipples characterised by equal inlet and outlet diameters but also with different diameters (in this case they are ‘reduced nipples’);
– Threads: usually GAS type, (GAS UNI 338/339 or ISO) widely used in the world of hydraulic fittings;
– Nut: this is the central hexagonal element that is used for fixing in operation and is fundamental for the choice of spanner.
They are usually produced in both carbon steel and stainless steel.
